Bio
Morristown High is part of my soul and I am so grateful for the years of friendship and great education. After years of chasing about the music scene in NY as a drummer with my old college band (while having a good day gig with Morris County as a juvenile probation officer), I married the lead vocalist and split for the PhD program I most desired here at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. What was planned as a five-year professional program commitment became much more. We raised our two children in this fast growing mid sized city and enjoy the Appalachian trails and its people. We can see the Great Smokey Mountains on the horizon through our living room windows. The music scene here is simply fantastic and an old friend, founder of Bonaroo and many major concert festivals, hosts the world's greatest gathering of people who come from all over the world to hear musicians performing in a dozen venues for four days--it is the Big Ears Music Festival where cutting edge composers of all kinds and major classic performers are heard. Old rock drummers like me generally return to their first love--jazz. I still take lessons and coaching from accomplished pros and bend their stuff to my own ends. Wife Lucinda and I were doing a gig weekly with a mix of professionals and seasoned amateurs like us--and will surely return soon. I dream of running a lap on the old MHS track and then pushing off to Burnham Park with the team of teams!
