What inspired your family members to choose Morristown across generations? (i.e. traditions, a particular experience, or a shared value):
My husband and I met at Morristown High School and we've moved between Morristown, Morris Plains, and Morris Township since we married in 1998, but always staying in an area where our children could attend the Morris School District and Morristown High School.

How have your experiences as a Morristown student, parent, or grandparent influenced the personal or professional journeys of you and your family members?
I began teaching in Kinnelon in 1997, but was always looking for an opening in the Morris School District. I loved growing up in Morristown and wanted to teach in the district that had offered so much to me as a student. That opportunity came in September 2004 when I moved to Frelinghuysen where I taught until September 2022 when I moved to Morristown High School, which is where I currently teach AP European History and Freshman World History.

In what ways has attending Morristown High School created a stronger bond within your family?
It is always fun to be able to discuss experiences and locations within the high school that we share with our children. Sometimes we even have had some of the same teachers! (Looking at you Mr. DiGioacchino!) We also know that, aside from the excellent education our children have received, that they are growing up in a town which is a microcosm of the real world, which helps them to have empathy and understand that not everyone lives the same lives as they do.

Any special memories or reflections that highlight the significance of this shared experience?
Back to School Night is always fun, as we walk around the building and reminisce. We enjoy popping into the cafeteria and remember the Junior Prom that we attended together.
